Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group hosted an incredible opening party for his new downtown restaurant and event space—Manhatta and Bay Room. Set on the entire 60th floor of the 28 Liberty St. Tower—the 360 degree glass enclave boasts 38,000 square feet for both restaurant (Manhatta) and event space (Bayroom), hereby making it one of NYC’s largest culinary projects and highest ballroom.
Peering out at rivers, bridges, skyscrapers, Miss Liberty and various boroughs, attendees basked in the palette of colors imbued by the exquisite golden hour sunset and urban night-lights. Delicately curated hors d’oeuvres, grilled shrimp skewers, short rib flank, steak salads and desserts constituted the ‘approachable’ fare reminiscent of the titan’s Union Square Café. Overflowing champagne, live bands, and limitless skylines certainly set the standard anew.
